    At your video discovery call, you’ll get answers to your tax questions and we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on any tax credits or deductions.

  • Knock out your taxes

    In two weeks or less, we’ll complete your tax return. Then, schedule a final meeting to explain the return, review it together, and confirm all the details.

We’re creating a safe space to ask questions and take action to file your taxes while navigating wealth building and confronting the historical barriers to wealth creation in the US.

Darren is a tax nerd and an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent with 15 years of experience serving households making under $70k. He grew up in a household that often struggled with money and he’s passionate about reducing the taboos around talking about money, especially among POCs.

Alma

Alma has been preparing taxes for 10+ years through NYC VITA: Free Tax Prep and has provided financial counseling to NYC residents and workers, youths, individuals on the pathway to U.S. citizenship, and individuals with disabilities transitioning into the workforce.

  • It takes 21 days for most to receive their refunds if the return is electronically filed. 4-6 weeks for paper filed returns.

  • Complete the intake and schedule an appointment: Tell us a little about your needs and schedule a time to meet with our team for 20 minutes.

    Discovery call: Upload your tax documents and tell us about your income, expenses, and tax-related events.

    Tax prep: We’ll prepare your taxes between meetings and reach out with any questions.

    Final call: We’ll review your return together, explain if anything should change next year, answer any questions you have, and sign then submit the return.

  • Yes, we’ll help any individual complete their taxes. We offer solidarity pricing, meaning discounted rates for those making under $70K, to support the community and make our pricing accessible to those with less income and wealth.

  • Yes! If you audited for a tax return that we prepare, please reach out to us and we are happy to assist you at no additional charge.

  • We focus specifically on individual guidance and returns, so no, we do not prepare returns for corporations or partnerships.

    We do file business returns for single-member LLCs and sole proprietors since they are compiled through your personal tax return.

  • Yes, information shared in sessions with our tax team stay between you and them. Safe spaces to talk about money are hard to find, so it’s really important that you know that we will keep everything private and confidential.
